Brandi Petersen is a former television news anchor with KETV-Newswatch 7, currently the Director of Communications and Engagement for Westside Community Schools. Brandi, a proud Papillion native, graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln while working at KETV, Omaha’s top-ranked ABC affiliate. As an award-winning journalist nominated for two regional Emmy Awards, Brandi covered historic events across Nebraska and Iowa, securing high-profile interviews with President Barack Obama, Ebola Virus survivor Dr. Rick Sacra, and former Nebraska Football Coach Bo Pelini. Brandi’s work in 2014 profiling a paralyzed bride walking down the aisle was featured around the world and has been viewed more than 3-million times online.  Brandi continues to tell stories at Westside, one of Nebraska’s premiere public school districts providing exceptional learning opportunities for students in Omaha.

Brandi is also Co-Marketing Director with the Miss Nebraska pageant, loves to read and is an avid baseball fan (always cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Atlanta Braves!)  Her most cherished moments are any spent with her husband, Brian, and their two little boys.

  1. I still cannot bring myself to watch the 10pm newscast. Nothing against Julie and Rob but Brandi, you made me smile! Your quirkiness and constant smile is infectious and whether the volume was down or being in another room, just a glance in your direction would make me smile! The best of luck to you in your new endeavors. You made a very solid mark on our community
